At Kirkstall we continue a legacy of brewing left by the Cistercian monks of Kirkstall Abbey and the Kirkstall Brewery Company of 1833-1983. Our own beginnings as Vertical Drinks, importing the likes of Sierra Nevada, Odell and Stone as early as 2003, allowed us to learn from the masters before starting our own brewery in 2011.

Horsforth Brewery is run by innovative brewer Mark Costello supplying the local Horsforth and wider Leeds areas with tasty, quality beers. Starting as a part-time project in 2017 in Mark's garage, the brewery has progressed to its own unit at the end of 2018 and as of March 2020 it is Mark's full-time job.

The Riverhead Brewery Tap is ideally placed in the picturesque village of Marsden.

On the ground floor in the bar, there are 10 real ale hand pumps several of which are permanently dedicated to the popular Riverhead beers brewed on-site.

The famous Riverhead micro-brewery is housed downstairs in the cellar. Here we brew a wide range of beers all with a local connection. Hot and cold food is served regularly with all dishes freshly prepared on site.

Since opening, we have become one of Leeds’ well known watering holes providing a wide selection of real ale, craft beer, Yorkshire ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks. The venue itself offers a unique, stylish interior with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, a private terrace and with its proximity to the train station, it has one of the best locations for function room hire in the city.
