The Leeds Beer Awards 2024 are coming...

Now into their third year, the Leeds Beer Awards are back again for 2024! You may be thinking the end of August is a little early to get going, but this year we've made a few changes...

From feedback we've received over the last couple of years, there's been too many venues in the final vote, creating far too many options for voters to choose from. This year we're only going to include venues which have had at least one check-in before the end of November.

Why check-ins you may ask? Well, for venue categories at least, it seems fair that you should quite literally vote with your feet, and prove you've been to venues you want to be shortlisted and included in the final vote in December.

If you haven't checked into a venue yet, it's super easy. You'll just need to have a free Leeds Beer account with us (you might have one from last year's voting). You'll also earn Badges by doing so. Not only that but the final voting will be website and webapp-based again, so an account will still be required for this part as before.

Once you have an account, you can check into a venue by heading to the Venues section of our website (or web app if you've installed it on your device homescreen). You will need to allow location permissions of course to prove you are at a venue, but if you're there you'll see a check in button on the venue page. You will also receive a notification whenever you're using the app at one of our venues and have enabled notifications (if you're using our webapp of course).

We don't just want our website and webapp to be a one-time thing when it comes to voting. We're trying to build a useful platform for all things beer-related in and around Leeds, and we welcome feedback on other useful app tools and information we can offer you to do just this.
