Kirkstall Brewery have been very popular in recent years especially with their connections to various drinking establishments in Leeds, as well as their involvement with the infamous annual Brew-denell beer festival. Having had their brewery premises located on Kirkstall Road for a while, they have recently opened a tap room directly next door, and we went to pay them a visit.
On arrival you're greeted by a number of fermenting vessels peering out of the windows at the brewery, which you can see more of once inside.
The brand new tap room is a vast space with plenty of seating to accommodate even the busiest periods. There's plenty of old beer signs and other vintage artifacts to feast your eyes on which really sets the tone.
At the bar you'll be spoilt for choice from both Kirkstall Brewery goodness fresh from yards away, including their staple offerings Three Swords, Kirkstall Pale and Dissolution IPA, as well as guest beers. They've even got a canning machine should you want to take anything away fresh to drink later on.
In charge of the fridge selection is no other than Raynville, who you may know from various beer festivals including the Leeds International Beer Festival, or perhaps you've paid them a visit at their own shop. There's a decent selection, especially if you fancy something other than from Kirkstall themselves. The beers are available to take out as you'd expect, or to drink in for a small additional fee.
There was no food when we visited but plans are in place to serve pizza and fresh salads soon.
