The craft beer scene in Leeds couldn’t be better right now, so why not take our ultimate Leeds craft beer bar crawl! Think Otley Run but with fewer students and craftier beers. We recommend committing a full Saturday to this, ideally in the summer so you can properly take in the fantastic rooftop terraces some of the bars along the route have to offer. Situated five minutes from Huddersfield train station is Arcade Beers, and for a bar this small I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a beer selection as extensive. Blink and you may miss the entrance to this place! As soon as you enter you’re welcomed by a wall of bottles and cans on your left and a bar on your right, serving six lines of draught goodness. Chilled beers are also on offer from the fridges. You’re quite literally surrounded by beer here. Continue reading “Arcade Beers – Huddersfield”
One of the joys of heading to Huddersfield is a trip to Magic Rock brewery. Situated roughly 15 minutes walking distance from the town centre Magic Rock is tucked away in an industrial estate, with the unit providing ample space for the actual brewery, a large taproom and outdoor space which is perfect for summer days with a number of street food vendors taking up residence to accompany your fresh beer. We’re pretty lucky up here in Leeds to have not just one but two great BrewDog bars. Only a few cities around the world can boast such a fact, including Aberdeen (obviously), Edinburgh and London (can we really count London though?). Continue reading “BrewDog bars – Leeds”

A quick Google highlighted we needed to check out a place called KANAAL, but unfortunately it didn’t open until 5:30pm and our time was limited in Sofia before catching our flight home. This was slightly disappointing since it is an Untappd verified venue and their beer menus looked AMAZING, with some ridiculously rare and hard-to-find beers present. Next time perhaps… Continue reading “Nosferatu Craft Beer Shop – Sofia, Bulgaria”
